To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Geographic region: Please note applications out of the geographic region for position applied will not be considered.Qualifications:Required:A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.Experience and ability to use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers.Certificate in trade skills related to HVAC, electricity, industrial repairs, etc.Must have excellent troubleshooting skillsMust have high school graduate or equivalentMust have intermediate communication skills to read, write, and speak EnglishMust have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environmentMust have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiativeMust have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.Must be able to work (flexible hours) long hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidaysPreferred:Must have welding experienceDuties and Responsibilities:Primary:Perform all functions in accordance with operating and safety guidelinesPerform maintenance in rotating equipment, conveyors, gearboxes, alignment and new mechanical installations and overall maintenanceTroubleshoot, analyze and repair all electronic AC and DC variablePerform maintenance on electrical controls and mechanic equipmentWeld equipment, conveyors, gearboxes, etc.Operate heavy equipment to perform maintenance jobs as neededMaintain a clean work area, free of debris or safety hazards and awareness of surroundings (i.e. vehicles, people checking equipment, etc.) at all times.Secondary:Special projects for the Department ManagerPerform other functions as assignedPhysical Requirements:Subject to physical and/or DOT screening is required along with other tests as applicableThe employee must frequently carry, push and pull up to 100lbs. and occasionally lift 100lbs.The employee is frequently required to grasp, exercise repetitive wrist and foot motion, and exercise finger dexterity.The employee is continuously required to talk and hearThe employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walkThe employee is frequently required to climb, forward bend, squat, twist, forward and overhead reachThe employee is continuously occasionally required to exercise eye-hand-foot coordination and frequently eye-hand coordination.The employee is occasionally required to kneel and crawlSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusSafety Requirements:Report safety hazardsImmediately report incidents involving injury, illness, or property damageWear appropriate PPE as instructed by immediate supervisorComply with all company safety policies, procedures, and rulesRefuse any unsafe task or operationParticipate in safety meetings and trainingBe constantly aware of their personal safety and that of their coworkersSupervision Received and Exercised:Receives direct supervision from the Terminal Maintenance Supervisor and does not exercise supervision over any other position.Conditions:Work is performed primarily in the shop/outdoors; exposed to all possible environmental factors such as extreme heat, rain, wind and high humidity during day and night shiftsThe employee occasionally works near moving mechanical partsThe employee is occasionally exposed to dust, fumes, and airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicalsThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to highModerate vibration though hands when using power tools and throughout body when operating power industrial equipmentDisclaimer:We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
