River Roast is looking for a passionate Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team and deliver an exceptional dining experience every day. Working alongside the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for leading daily kitchen operations, inspiring the team, and ensuring every dish reflects the quality and hospitality River Roast is known for. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys cooking, mentoring others, and thriving in a fast-paced, chef-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support daily kitchen operations alongside the Executive Chef.
• Cook on the line and lead by example during service.
• Train, coach, and develop cooks while fostering a positive, team-first culture.
• Ensure every dish is executed with consistency, quality, and attention to detail.
• Assist with menu development, seasonal features, and recipe execution.
• Help manage food ordering, inventory, scheduling, and food cost.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen.
• Work closely with front-of-house leadership to provide an outstanding guest experience.
• Support banquet, private event, and catering operations as needed.
• Help create a culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Restaurant experience preferred.
