Job Description: Licensed Practical Nurse - Float (LPN) $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for New Hires!* Location:Manhattan, NY (Central Park, Kips Bay, Upper East Side, Yorkville, Washington Heights) Hours: 4/10 hour days, Mon, Wed-Fri 7:30a-6p (RDO Tuesday) Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) In This Role, You Will: Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments Escort patients to exam rooms Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets Assist physician with exams and/or procedures Prepare and administer Injections Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens Perform point of care lab testing Perform EKGs Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error Must be willing and able to float throughout our Manhattan locations We Require: Current NYS LPN license required At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required Spanish-speaking preferred Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals Experience with EMR’s Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs What We Offer: Salary: Starting at$39 per hour Benefits: Health Insurance on Day 1, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, Paid Time off (PTO), 8 paid holidays (2 floating) **Join us at NYCBS, where we are making strides in healthcare through innovative and compassionate care.
