Our El Paso office is seeking a motivated Litigation Personal Injury Attorney to join our team.

Our litigation attorneys take an active role in developing cases from filing through resolution. They work directly with clients, conduct discovery, take and defend depositions, develop expert testimony, argue motions, negotiate significant settlements, participate in mediations, and prepare cases for trial.

We are looking for an attorney who wants to take ownership of their cases, sharpen their litigation skills, develop courtroom experience, and grow with a firm committed to achieving exceptional results for injured clients and their families.

The ideal candidate is strategic, organized, motivated, and comfortable working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, experts, clients, and other professionals to move cases aggressively and efficiently toward resolution or trial.

*What You’ll Do*

As a Litigation Attorney, you will manage a docket of plaintiff-side personal injury cases through all stages of litigation, with the support of legal staff.

Responsibilities include:

* Manage plaintiff-side personal injury and wrongful death cases from filing through settlement or trial.
* Develop litigation strategy based on liability, damages, insurance coverage, available evidence, applicable law, and overall case value.
* Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, briefs, and other litigation documents.
* Conduct written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, and third-party discovery.
* Analyze discovery responses and identify deficiencies requiring additional discovery, conferences, or motion practice.
* Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, corporate representatives, treating providers, and expert witnesses.
* Identify, retain, prepare, and work with appropriate experts.
* Develop liability and damages evidence through records, witnesses, experts, inspections, electronic data, corporate documents, and other available sources.
* Research and analyze legal issues affecting liability, damages, evidentiary matters, insurance coverage, and trial strategy.
* Prepare and argue motions and participate in court hearings, scheduling conferences, and other proceedings.
* Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial.
* Evaluate cases for mediation, settlement, and trial.
* Participate in mediations and negotiate settlements with defense counsel and insurance carriers.
* Counsel clients regarding litigation strategy, settlement offers, case value, risks, and potential outcomes.
* Maintain regular and meaningful communication with clients throughout litigation.
* Develop comprehensive trial strategies, including witness examinations, exhibits, demonstratives, motions in limine, and evidentiary issues.
* Assist with and participate in jury trials and bench trials.
* Manage experts, litigation deadlines, discovery deadlines, dispositive motion deadlines, pretrial deadlines, and trial settings.
* Work closely with legal assistants, investigators, experts, and other members of the litigation team.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to paralegals and support staff.
* Collaborate with pre-litigation attorneys during case transitions to ensure cases enter litigation with a clear strategy and appropriate supporting evidence.
* Proactively identify weaknesses, opportunities, and additional avenues of recovery throughout the life of the case.
* Help ensure every case is developed strategically and deliberately for the strongest possible resolution.

*What We’re Looking For*

* Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
* Active law license and good standing in Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona.
* Multi-state licensure is a plus.
* Plaintiff-side personal injury, wrongful death, insurance, or civil litigation experience preferred.
* Experience handling depositions preferred.
* Trial, hearing, and courtroom experience is a plus.
* Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
* Strong negotiation skills and sound professional judgment.
* Ability to independently evaluate liability, damages, evidence, insurance coverage, and case value.
* Confidence interacting directly with clients, opposing counsel, insurance representatives, experts, medical providers, witnesses, and other professionals.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, depositions, hearings, and trial settings.
* Ability to develop and execute litigation strategy while maintaining attention to detail.
* A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of case development and progression.
* Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and support staff.
* Commitment to representing injured individuals and families with professionalism, compassion, and determination.
* Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, but not required.
