Registered Nurse RN Surgical Progressive Care PCU

Job Overview Location: Tucson, Arizona. Department: PCU Surgical (24 bed PCU/IMCU). Shift: Night 7:00PM – 7:30AM, 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week. 48‑hour weekend shift differential of $3/hour and a nightly differential of 18%. Core Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, developmental, cultural and discharge needs. Review histories, diagnostics, laboratory data and communicate abnormal results to the physician and appropriate caregivers. Formulate, revise and communicate individualized plans of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and multidisciplinary input. Implement care plans by providing direct patient care, coordinating, delegating and supervising activities of the health‑care team. Evaluate patients’ responses and outcomes, revise care plans as needed, and assess the effectiveness of teaching and interventions. Document all aspects of care in the patient record, ensuring timeliness, legibility and compliance with policy. Apply evidence‑based practice, participate in research activities, and contribute to shared leadership and education of staff, patients, families and visitors. Promote professional growth through precepting and mentoring, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional organizations. In certain roles, supervise staff and workflow of the department. Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts to coordinate care and provide spiritual support when necessary. Minimum Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim or compact license as appropriate). BLS certification required. One year of acute‑care experience, including work within the past 12 months in the specialty area. Maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations. Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for positions with behavior health, home care, hospice, or Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility. Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card required for the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred.
