Operations Manager

Job Overview The Operations Manager - Terminal will direct company programs and implement policy within assigned terminal(s) to ensure full compliance with contract duties between the company and the customer. Roles & Responsibilities Plan and develop work schedules to ensure adequate service. Prepare schedules for service personnel and assign personnel to routes. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of the establishment for compliance with safety, quality, and service standards. Conduct quality audits to confirm work completion and adherence to quality standards. Audit, maintain, and manage inventories, supplies, and equipment. Investigate new equipment and methods and promote improvements. Review customer service requests to determine cause, type of malfunction, and coordinate resolution with management. Implement organizational policies and goals. Analyze and facilitate budget requests to identify cost‑saving opportunities. Assist in promoting services to develop new markets, increase market share, and achieve a competitive position. Inspect plant and evaluate space and facility usage. Assist with plans, budgets, and schedule modifications, including cost estimates, bid sheets, and contracts. Ensure the site meets budget goals on a sustaining basis. Assist in developing long-range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements for program/process improvements. Coordinate program specifications, proposal and contract requirements, and associated documents. Compile data for preparing estimates. Maintain and report on financial aspects such as labor hours, overhead, supplies, expenses, billing, forecasting, and related areas. Maintain a safe work environment for self and employees. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (FLSA, OSHA, ADA, etc.). Direct supervisory management engaged in support of facilities programs. Act as liaison among company, customers, clients, employees, and subcontractors. Maintain contract and contractor status databases. Review contractor correspondence and respond appropriately. Establish and maintain contact with contractors to ensure a smooth contract process. Conduct and attend meetings to communicate up and down the chain with customers, clients, and employees. Assist with human resource concerns and issues. Some travel may be required. The required knowledge, skills, and abilities are representative of what is needed for safe and effective performance. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or a related field from a four‑year college or university with 2–5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Valid driver’s license may be required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bilingual a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Customer service, problem solving, time management, project management, planning. Excellent presentation, interviewing, coaching, and training skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer skills. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or community members. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, employees, and the public. Supervisory Responsibilities Interview, hire, plan, assign, and direct work for direct reports. Approve and manage time for direct reports. Conduct performance evaluations, reward, and discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems. Ensure employees receive proper training on tasks and safety requirements.
