Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role serves as a vital communication link between the patient and the assigned Registered Nurse, ensuring that the patient's needs are effectively addressed throughout their care.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing personal hygiene care and participating in the formulation and updating of the patient's care plan.
• Administering medications and treatments, including respiratory therapy modalities, and recording them accurately.
• Applying and enforcing infection control policies and practices.
• Organizing time, effort, and energy effectively while exercising judgment in prioritizing care.
• Reporting incidents and changes in the patient's condition to the Registered Nurse.
• Taking appropriate actions during stressful, unusual, and emergency situations.
• Establishing good interpersonal relationships and demonstrating understanding, patience, and tact in interactions.
• Providing patient instruction during hospitalization and upon discharge.
• Assisting with the orientation and continued learning of new staff members and students.
• Maintaining professional and clinical competence through active participation in continuing education programs.

Required experience/certifications/licensure include:

• Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse Program with current licensure.
• CPR and ACLS certifications are required.
• Required visual, auditory, and manual dexterity abilities to assess patient conditions effectively.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn various computer programs utilized by the facility.

This is a 13-week contract position.
