Associate Attorney 1-3 Years of Experience

Job Overview A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 1-3 years of experience to join its defense practice in White Plains, NY. This role offers a dynamic opportunity for a junior attorney to enhance litigation skills within a collaborative environment. The candidate must reside within one of the five boroughs of New York City to cover hearings and court appearances throughout Downstate New York. Duties Assist with all phases of New York defense litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda. Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive reports and legal analysis. Participate in court conferences, depositions, and hearings as appropriate. Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with client guidelines. Maintain accurate time records and billing entries. Requirements 1-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting. Admission to practice in New York; additional bar admissions in NJ, CT, or PA are a plus. Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a demonstrated work ethic. Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines consistently. Federal court or appellate experience is a plus, but not required. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admission to the New York State Bar.
