We are seeking asphalt paving Laborers to join our team in Missoula, MT . In this role you will assist our underground drill teams to complete assigned projects working around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities. This role will be a small crew performing specific asphalt and paving projects.

The Role

• Shovel, rake, lute, and compact asphalt
• Assist with operation of paving equipment
• Perform site cleanup and traffic control
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Follow all company safety procedures
• Travel to job sites as needed
• When not needed for asphalt projects, will assist drill operators and locators with equipment to complete assigned projects
• Will work in and around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities
• Will learn about utility depths and placements
• Review field designs and work with drill team to communicate discrepancies to supervisor for change orders
• Properly document all work completed to include pothole and bore logs
• Will learn and assist with conduit splicing, vault/pedestal placement and fiber/coax placement as needed
• Complete general restoration and cleanup
• Complete all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders
• Other duties as assigned

• Underground telecommunications construction or installation experience a plus
• Experience with asphalt and paving a plus
• Ability to travel daily, out of state as needed, with company provided accommodations and per diems
• Ability to work outside of business hours when needed, overtime, holidays, evenings, weekends etc., in all seasons
• Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• High level of energy, motivation and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruption
• Ability to work with a noise level from moderate to loud
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs as needed
• Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing in all weather conditions year round
• Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
• Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
• Class A CDL ideal but not required for all positions
• Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
