Sr. Clinical Research Assistant

Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of the Sleep and Circadian Methods Research Core and the COBRE Center Director, the Sleep and Circadian Rhythms Methods Research Core Research Assistant (SCMRC RA) supports the center’s project leaders as they integrate sleep and circadian rhythms methodologies into their research projects. Responsibilities • Leverage diverse methodologies to assist center‑funded investigators and projects, including work on sleep and circadian rhythms in pediatric anxiety, adolescents with psychosis, teens involved in the justice system, autism, epigenetics, and more. • Conduct and assist with in‑person assessments, laboratory and field monitoring, wearable technology tracking, biometrics, brain activity monitoring, saliva sampling, and cognitive testing. • Support methods documentation, training of faculty, data collection, organization, processing, and summarization. • Aid in preparing regulatory documents, drafting reports, and contributing to presentations, publications, and the center’s broader academic activities such as journal clubs. • Interact comfortably with research participants and their families (children, adolescents, adults) while maintaining confidentiality and meticulous attention to detail. • Use personal transportation to visit other research sites and pick up materials for participants; a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required. Minimum Qualifications Education: Baccalaureate in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, or related fields. Competencies: Exceptional people skills, enthusiasm, organization, creativity, and determination. Personal transportation is required to visit multiple research sites. Flexible schedule required; occasional evenings or weekend work may be necessary. Strong academic record; interest in graduate school, medical school, or a data‑centered career in behavioral or biomedical sciences is preferred. Experience Prior human‑subjects research experience, ideally in sleep, child mental health, psychology, neuroscience, or data‑driven behavioral science. Strong computer skills in Microsoft (Office, Windows) and Apple environments. Familiarity with statistics and/or programming (e.g., R, STATA, SPSS, MATLAB, UNIX, Python) is a plus; training will be provided. Pay Range $48,068.80 – $79,372.80 per year.
