Clinical Research Assistant II – Care New England, Providence, RI Job Summary The Clinical Research Assistant II, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and/or senior study staff, collects, processes, and enters research data in support of specified research projects. Following established protocols and procedures, they carry out study activities and recruit and follow research subjects, as appropriate to the study objectives. Duties and Responsibilities Collect data by review of medical records, interviews, or other means. Perform coding, entry, and verification of data collected into both paper and electronic databases. Recruit subjects into research studies and conduct follow‑up interviews per study protocol. Assist in the processing and storage of biological specimens, as needed, under supervision. Observe all relevant risk management and infection control policies and procedures, and any applicable quality improvement activities. Collect and review scientific articles; enter references into a database. Prepare drafts of written documents relating to study procedures. Perform general office duties including typing, photocopying, inventory, and ordering. Perform other related duties as assigned. Assist in preparation of IRB submissions. Work evening hours and/or weekend hours as required in support of specified studies. Respect and safeguard the rights of human subjects, including confidentiality of information gathered. Observe all general hospital policies, guiding principles, rules, and regulations, and consistently adhere to the Care New England service standards. Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Basic computer skills, e.g., familiarity with Microsoft software and spreadsheet/data entry. Ability to work with diverse populations and support an inclusive, culturally responsive environment.
