Staff Accountant

Accounting RolePractices, and provide general financial guidance and support.What you'll do:For this role, we are seeking a highly-motivated, hands-on individual who has the knowledge and experience to build our accounting processes. This includes overseeing the implementation process, evaluating software, and recommending procedures. This position interacts daily with all areas of the organization, including our retail stores, office support staff, vendors, and customers, and is responsible for managing all of the company's accounting and reporting functions.Responsibilities and DutiesEnsure accuracy of the general ledger and entity records, and manage all entries in compliance with GAAPAccounts PayablesVerify, process and reconcile payments to vendorsFixed AssetsROUPrepare and update fixed asset amortization and depreciation schedulesPrepare and update ROU amortization schedulesPrepare bank and account reconciliations and monitor cash balancesRetail / operational accounting reconciliations and troubleshooting as needed of various accounts including, but not limited to: bank deposit, credit cards, and lottery salesConduct weekly and month-end review of merchandise and fuel margins for retail locationsField questions, communicate, and collaborate with Store Managers on various issues and escalate as necessaryMonthly sales tax reportingAnnual 1099 reportingReview lease documentation and ensure that all charges are billed according to the termsOther duties as assignedQualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in accounting requiredPrevious experience in retail operations required, preferably in the convenience store industry/Fuel IndustryStrong analytical skillsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelPrevious experience using QuickBooksPDI Enterprise knowledge is a PLUSAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written correspondenceBenefitsMedical coverage benefit planDental and Vision coverage benefit planPTO (Paid Time Off)401 K
