The position partners closely with origination and portfolio management teams, supporting transactions from initial deal evaluation through ongoing portfolio monitoring to ensure sound credit risk management across the portfolio.Key responsibilities include overseeing accurate and consistent financial statement spreading, preparing quarterly trend analyses and monitoring reports, performing covenant testing, and ensuring compliance with bank credit policies and spreading standards. The role involves analyzing financial data, preparing comprehensive written credit analyses, evaluating portfolio credit quality and risk ratings, and supporting industry and sector reviews.In addition, the role collaborates with internal stakeholders to prepare and present credit requests for approval, including renewals, modifications, extensions, covenant changes, and new-money requests. Responsibilities also include maintaining compliance monitoring and financial reporting databases to track credit agreement requirements, borrower financial reporting, covenant compliance, and key credit metrics.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed financial analysis, including spreading financial statements, covenant testing, risk rating evaluation, and quarterly credit monitoringPrepare written credit memoranda for renewals, amendments, extensions, and modifications, and originationAnalyze portfolio-level trends, credit quality, and concentration risks, and support industry and sector reviewsMaintain credit monitoring databases tracking financial reporting requirements, covenant compliance, and credit metricsEnsure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and documentation standardsCoordinate internally with Credit Approvers, Relationship Managers, and other partner teams to support timely and accurate credit decisionsBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experienceThree to five years of experience in a finance or analytical-related rolePreferred Skills / ExperienceBackground in economics, accounting, and/or finance with the ability to apply that knowledge to lending and credit risk analysisExperience supporting commercial or corporate banking portfolios, underwriting, or credit analysisStrong financial analysis skills, including covenant testing, credit modeling, and trend analysisAbility to prepare clear, well-structured written credit analyses and technical reportsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate risk and issues effectively to internal partnersAbility to independently execute straightforward credit requests for new and existing clients and collaborate with Credit ApproversProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelOur qualification review for this role considers the totality of a candidate’s background, including relevant work experience, education, military experience, and specialized training.
