Vice President - Civil

A well-established and rapidly growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Vice President Civil Construction to lead and expand its operations across the Southeast. This is a high-impact executive leadership role with responsibility for driving operational excellence, strategic growth, financial performance, and the development of high-performing teams. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will oversee multiple business units and play a key role in shaping the company's long-term growth strategy. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for all civil construction operations across the Atlanta market and surrounding region. Lead Operations Managers, Project Executives, Project Managers, and field leadership teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget. Drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency across the business. Develop and execute business growth strategies, including identifying new market opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships. Work closely with the estimating and preconstruction teams to review major pursuits and ensure successful project delivery. Establish and maintain strong relationships with public agencies, municipalities, DOTs, developers, and private clients. Monitor financial performance, forecasting, resource allocation, and risk management. Foster a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Recruit, mentor, and develop future leaders within the organisation. Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and long-term business objectives. Requirements 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within heavy civil construction. Proven experience leading large-scale civil construction operations. Strong background delivering projects including: Site Development Highways & Roads Grading & Earthwork Utilities Bridges (preferred) Concrete & Paving (preferred) Demonstrated success managing large operational teams and multiple concurrent projects. Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for P&L performance. Experience developing client relationships and securing repeat business. Exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
