Front Desk Clerk/Reservations Agent

DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Clerk is checking guests in or out and collecting payments. Projects the high standards of the Bavarian Inn Lodge by performing all functions relating to registration and checking out of all hotel guests as well as creating, changing, and canceling reservations in an accurate, courteous, and efficient mannerIn charge of the activities relating to the early Front Desk Clerk shiftTakes a roll in training all new Front Desk personnelMust possess ability to find solutions to problems that occur during Front Desk & Reservation operationsHave the ability or effectiveness in selling and presenting persuasivelyUpselling must be maintained and offeredWill strive to offer the highest level of guest service offered in Michigan. Performs other duties as directed by the Front Desk Manager and the Front Desk Supervisors.

HOURS:

1. Any combination of hours between 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. 2-5 Days per week. 16-36 hours per week. Hours may vary in busy or slow seasons.
2. Other shifts may be used from time to time due to large number of check-ins or check-outs.
3. *must be able to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 18 yrs old.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Background in dealing with the public, diplomacy and tactfulness.
• Pleasing personality and appearance. Ability to get along with people in a variety of situations.
• Ability to organize work, good judgment, honesty, and dependability.
• Proficient in computer programs necessary in an office environment. Basic arithmetic and typing skills, knowledge of area attractions.
• Good Dependability and punctuality a must.
• Ability accept feedback daily.
