Design Director

Jack Morton is looking for a Design Director to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a history of developing award‑winning environmental designs and has experience leading a team of designers. The role requires generating thoughtful design concepts that translate into compelling branded live experiences. Stage and event experience is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design immersive, compelling 3D environments to house branded experiences Present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner Immerse yourself in the brand and audience for inspiration Be responsible, organized, and accountable for the work of your team Understand materials, building techniques, and construction drawings Work within budgets and regulations Lead and mentor a team Communicate feedback to team members constructively Collaborate within the Creative department and across the organization Communicate with clarity, confidence, competence, professionalism, and authenticity Stay current with design trends and apply them where relevant Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 1‑5 non‑supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: BA or BFA in Industrial Design, Architecture, Scenic Design, or a related field; or 10+ years of relevant design and experiential marketing experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Skills and Abilities: experience with pharmaceutical clients/brands is a plus; strong communicator and dynamic presenter; entrepreneurial and proactive.
