About the Position

Job Title: Scrub Tech Profession: Scrub Tech Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required CST Certifications: BLS, CST Must-Have: Orthopedic surgery experience including total joints Familiarity with ENT and general surgery procedures Surgical identification and setup Sterile technique and aseptic practice Specimen handling and surgical site preparation Medication handling on the sterile field Troubleshooting sterile field contamination Ability to work independently with minimal orientation Fast room turnover Description: This position is for a Scrub Tech in the Operating Room. The unit contains five beds and has a staff of twelve. Staff includes OR Registered Nurses, Scrub Techs, and First Assists. Common equipment includes power drills, saws, arthroscopy tools, laparoscopic towers, insufflators, and cautery devices. Familiarity with electronic medical records is required. The primary procedures performed include orthopedic surgeries, GYN procedures, ENT surgeries, and general surgeries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Candidates should be prepared for potential float to other areas, such as endoscopy. The dress code includes hospital-laundered scrubs and hair covering. There may be late coverage or on-call responsibilities required on a bi-weekly basis.
