Roadway Flagger/Laborer

Reports To: Superintendent / Foreman

Position Summary

The Roadway Flagger/Laborer is responsible for directing traffic safely through construction work zones while assisting crews with general labor duties on roadway, utility, and civil construction projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic using approved flagging procedures.

Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices, including signs, cones, and barricades.

Assist with roadway, utility, concrete, and earthwork operations.

Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment.

Maintain a clean and safe job site.

Follow instructions from the Superintendent and Foreman.

Perform general labor as needed to support construction activities.

Follow all OSHA, company, and project safety requirements.

Report unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications

Previous construction or flagging experience preferred.

Valid Flagger Certification preferred (or ability to obtain).

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Work Environment

Work is performed outdoors on active construction sites with exposure to traffic, heavy equipment, varying weather conditions, and uneven terrain. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
