In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in the clinical setting. You will integrate patient care standards in all clinical activities; participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes. The RN will maintain sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers./ppResponsibilities:/pulliProvide primary nursing care in the Operating Room/liliServe as a Circulator/liliUnderstanding Scrub Role including passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants./liliMaintain a sterile environment to prevent infections./liliEnsure that the surgical team adheres to aseptic techniques./liliAnticipate the needs of the surgical team during the procedure./liliAssess and monitor the patients during their surgical procedure/liliServe as patients advocate, ensuring safety throughout the procedure./liliAccurately completes the Intraoperative record during surgical procedure to include patients condition; supplies used and any occurrences during surgery./li/ulpExperience Required:/pulli1.5 + years of operating room experience, preferably in orthopedics/liliNew Graduate RNs are hired into the Residency Program/liliRNS with 1+ years of RN experience outside of the OR are hired into the Fellowship/li/ulpEducation Required:/pulliBSN from an accredited school of nursing required/li/ulpCertifications Required:/pulliNYS RN license and registration required/liliNJS RN license and registration required/liliAHA BLS certification required/liliAHA ACLS preferred/li/ulpNon-Discrimination Policy: Hospital for Special Surgery is committed to providing high quality care and skilled, compassionate, reliable service to our community in a safe and healing environment.
