Litigation Paralegal (Tampa)

Lieser Skaff, a Tampa-based business law and litigation firm, is seeking a motivated Paralegal who has experience with Florida Law to manage an active case load, oversee calendaring (including AI-generated deadlines), and support client intake. We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented professional ready for a broad, high-impact role supporting our attorneys. Real estate, commercial landlord-tenant, and business litigation experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Case Management & Administration: Manage an active case load from intake through resolution — processing incoming cases, organizing files (chronologically, numerically, or by subject), opening new matters in the billing software, e-filing, entering billing entries, and handling client communications.

• Calendaring & Deadlines: Manage scheduling across multiple practice areas, including coordinating hearings, depositions, trials, and meetings; calculating state and federal due dates; and monitoring compliance with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and standard orders.

• AI Deadline Oversight: Review and verify deadlines generated by the firm's AI calendaring tools, cross-checking against governing rules before they're finalized on the calendar.

• Case Evaluations: Gather information from high-prospect potential new clients (PNCs) and relay organized findings to attorneys to support case-viability decisions.

• Discovery: Draft discovery responses; gather, organize, and coordinate production of discovery materials; Bates-stamp, redact, duplicate, and index documents; work with e-discovery vendors under attorney guidance; and prepare chronologies, production charts, and indexes.

• Litigation Support: Prepare and file court documents; organize briefs, exhibits, and appendices; draft subpoenas/summonses; coordinate trial set-up and logistics; assist attorneys in the courtroom (exhibits, notes, witness prep); and maintain status reports on all files.

• Court Filings & Document Management: Monitor court portals (ePortal, JAWS) to download pleadings, calendar related deadlines, and file documents in NetDocuments; draft correspondence and other case-related documents.

• General Support: Provide administrative assistance to attorneys and clients as needed, and cover incoming calls.

Specific duties and work allocation depend on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

• Must be able to reliably commute to Tampa, FL 33606 (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a Florida law firm, including at least 5 years calendaring deadlines for a civil law firm in Florida.
• Comprehensive understanding of court deadlines, calendaring requirements, and relevant legal procedures and court rules.
• Comfort working with AI-assisted calendaring tools, with the judgment to verify and correct AI-generated output.
• Experience supporting client intake.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a large caseload at various stages under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently within professional guidelines and ethics, and as part of a team, showing initiative on attorney follow-up items.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and accurate.
