Sr. Underwriter I - Public Service (Nationwide)

Responsibilities Underwrites large, complex property & casualty insurance risks, determining acceptability, conditions, and pricing according to regulatory requirements, corporate product offerings, and designated authority level. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of loss experience, business conditions of key accounts, loss trends, and relevant legal or economic factors affecting the property & casualty business. Participates with a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the property & casualty insurance and service needs of large multi‑product customers. Maintains knowledge of all products, services, priorities, and target markets within the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment. May accompany marketing representatives or represent the company at appointments in assigned territory and industry events. May develop and maintain relationships with agency representatives, negotiate new and renewal business in partnership with Marketing, and support profit improvement initiatives with Marketing Department. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. 4+ years of commercial underwriting experience (CPCU or AU designations preferred). Excellent analytical and communication skills. Detail‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to travel in the assigned geographic territory for agency calls. Knowledge of forms and coverages. Salary Pay Transparency Salary Range Nationwide: Sr UW I $84,422 – $94,354. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
