Business Development ManagerThe Business Development Manager leads business development activities that support office and regional growth objectives through client relationship development, lead generation, market intelligence, proposal support, marketing coordination, and strategic planning. This role collaborates closely with technical and operational leaders to identify opportunities, expand client relationships, and align business development efforts with organizational goals. The Business Development Manager serves as a key contributor to growth initiatives while mentoring junior business development staff and promoting ECS Core Values.ResponsibilitiesIdentifies and researches leads for new work and proposal leads, lunch and learns, and other business development tasksAssists junior staff with resolution of issuesUses ECS systems in the coordination of business development tasksCoordinates internal communications with staff members on a variety of business development tasksMentors junior staff and supports the overall development of the teamAssists with the coordination of business development meetings and connects clients to staffDevelops business development strategic plans and budgetsIdentifies, tracks, and coordinates conference, industry, and award opportunitiesConsults with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks weeklySupplies content and coordinates for email, social media, marketing campaigns, website, and industry conferencesPerforms market research to understand the markets and industries we serveMaintains and updates databases, generates leads, and follows up with clientsAdditional responsibilities may include managing and/or mentoring business development team membersAttends and participates in professional associations and networking groupsAssists with coaching engineering staff on successful client interaction and business development strategiesQualificationsRequired Qualifications4 years of related experience with a degree or 8 years of related experience without a degreeBS in Business Administration, Marketing, or similar, preferredIf driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is requiredProficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to multitask and meet deadlinesExcellent oral & written communication skillsDependable, self-motivated, responsible and detail-orientedAbility to work effectively in teams, with clients, peers and subordinates, as well as independentlyExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong understanding of general business development processes including research, planning, promotion and evaluationStrong leadership and decision-making skillsStrong level of understanding of prioritizing and urgency of work in the consulting industryAbility to understand priorities and urgency of workMilitary QualificationsThe following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education, certification, and licenses requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications":E-5About UsECS Group of Companies (ECS) was founded in 1988 with the goal to raise the standards of professional engineering consulting.
