HR Generalist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Generalist to serve as the primary point of contact for employees on HR, payroll, and benefits matters. This role owns end-to-end payroll processing in Paylocity and supports the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through employee relations and benefits administration. The ideal candidate is a trusted resource for employees and managers alike, comfortable balancing day-to-day HR operations with contributions to broader HR strategy and system improvements. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll in Paylocity accurately and on time, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, deductions, and garnishments. Audit payroll data, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve employee pay questions promptly. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations. Employee Support and HR Administration Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, benefits, policies, and general HR matters. Maintain accurate employee records and personnel files in the HRIS. Prepare HR reports and data as requested by leadership. Employee Relations Address employee concerns and provide guidance to both employees and managers on workplace issues, policies, and best practices. Support investigations, documentation, and resolution of employee relations matters in a fair, consistent, and confidential manner. Onboarding and Orientation Manage the onboarding process from offer acceptance through the first days of employment, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires. Lead new hire orientation, introducing employees to company policies, benefits, systems, and culture. Benefits Administration Coordinate benefits administration, including open enrollment, new hire and life event enrollments, and carrier/vendor communications. Assist employees with benefits questions and claims resolution. Develop and deliver clear communications about benefits offerings and changes. HRIS and Process Improvement Support HRIS administration and system projects in partnership with internal stakeholders, including data management, reporting, and process optimization. Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve operational efficiency. Training and Development Develop and deliver training on HR topics such as new systems, benefits programs, and performance management. Support managers in performance management processes and cycles. Strategic Partnership Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address organizational needs. Participate in strategic planning discussions and contribute to HR initiatives aligned with business objectives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 3+ years of HR generalist experience, including hands-on payroll processing. Experience with Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform. Working knowledge of employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and state-specific regulations. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
