Essential Qualifications:
- Active California OT license
- Previous experience in California schools, working with K–12 populations
- Proficiency in administering both BOT-3 and Peabody assessments
- Comfortable independently managing a shifting caseload—there is no cap, and students requiring assessments or consultations will change throughout the assignment
- Ability to interpret data to address parent concerns and confidently advocate for necessary services
- Self-motivation and excellent organizational skills; you’ll be creating your own schedule based on the district’s needs and operating with minimal oversight
- Strong communication abilities, with Spanish bilingual skills welcomed but not required
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough OT assessments using standardized tools for students with a wide range of disabilities, from mild to severe
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans to maximize student participation and success within the school environment
- Consult with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress and recommended services
- Navigate multiple school settings as an itinerant OT, providing on-site support where needed most
- Document services, progress, and assessment data clearly and concisely according to district protocols
