Inventory Accounting Manager

We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the reconciliation and management of our company's inventory sub-ledger, ensuring alignment with third-party logistics and store inventories for both retail and wholesale operations. The role involves analyzing wholesale sales and margins, driving balance sheet reconciliations, and implementing process improvements. Responsibilities Manage daily and monthly reconciliation of inventory sub-ledger to 3PL and store inventory. Conduct wholesale sales and margin analysis to support business objectives. Identify, analyze, and communicate root causes of inventory variances. Establish and maintain inventory controls, making necessary adjustments in collaboration with retail operations and logistics teams. Maintain and update the cost accounting system, working closely with the product development team. Develop inventory analysis reports and analyze variances from standards. Oversee annual physical inventory counts and ensure accurate reporting. Requirements Experience in inventory control and standard costing, including variance analysis. Proficiency in first-in, first-out inventory accounting, including capitalization and expensing of cost variances such as purchase price, freight, and duty. Results-oriented, flexible, resourceful, and self-motivated with a keen attention to detail. Strong analytical skills and initiative, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong time-management skills, with the ability to adhere to month-end close timelines. Ability to work independently and provide solutions to complex questions. Proficiency in Excel and inventory general ledger applications. Demonstrated curiosity about business operations and underlying factors.
