Job Details Job Location: Fort Worth Other Potential Locations: Fort Worth, TX Anticipated Start Date: 07/01/2026 Number of Positions: 1 Salary Range: $81,500 - $115,000 ($81,500-$105,000 for 2+ years of experience; $92,000-$115,000 for 3+ years of experience) Salary Band: 29; 30 Work Environment This is a full‑time position located in Fort Worth, TX. Employees may work one day per week remotely. Travel is minimal, less than 10%. The daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment. Finance Department The BNSF Railway Finance Department provides innovative strategic solutions and world‑class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. It includes specialized departments such as Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies, which collaborate to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities Perform financial and operational analysis on complex, high‑profile projects to determine impact on cost, profitability, operating performance, customer service, and capital commitments. Analyze capital investment, business process changes, labor agreement modifications, equipment acquisition, utilization, line expansion, terminal/line operations, and commercial contract negotiations. Evaluate alternatives and quantify associated risks to provide objective, quantitative basis for decision making. Act as a project leader on cross‑departmental teams addressing major strategic issues. Incorporate rule interpretations from the Law Department, Labor Relations, Accounting, Tax and other groups into project evaluations. Prioritize multiple projects and manage them through completion in a dynamic environment. Educate and work with team members on problem solving, computer applications (TSS, SQL, Excel, etc.), statistical analysis, economic analysis (discounted cash flow), and railway operations. Make presentations and communicate results to all levels of management. Relocation Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs. Basic Qualifications Must be able to work without BNSF’s assistance in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial/operations analysis with relevant industry/BNSF experience, or other relevant work experience considered. Strong critical thinking, analytical problem solving, project management, time management, financial analysis (NPV/IRR), and Excel modeling skills. Excellent communication skills, including presenting financial analyses, explaining technical issues to non‑technical audiences, working with business process experts, and training team members. Familiarity with BNSF corporate data sources: Data Warehouse, Corporate Dashboard, TSS, etc. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree.
