Grant Compliance and Monitoring Coordinator

Description This position supports the Tribe’s grant development and grant compliance efforts. The role is responsible for assisting with the preparation and submission of grant applications and supporting the monitoring of awarded grants to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance). The position works collaboratively with program managers, finance, and Tribal leadership to help secure and manage funding that supports Tribal programs and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Research and identify prospective funding opportunities. Collaborate with program managers to develop grant proposals, including project narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation. Prepare and submit grant applications in accordance with Tribal Council and Grant Manager review procedures. Implement, maintain, and manage a grant funding calendar that tracks application deadlines, pending submissions, renewal timelines, and reporting requirements. Conduct monthly grant compliance reviews and program monitoring to ensure grant activities, reporting, and deliverables align with applicable requirements. Maintain accurate grant files, documentation, and information databases related to grant applications, awards, and reporting. Ensure programmatic and reporting requirements are met, including tracking deliverables, maintaining current budgets, and submitting required reports to funding agencies.ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Participate in planning meetings and present grant opportunities and program funding options for prioritization. Assists with the development of planning initiatives such as short- and long-term strategic plans, comprehensive plans, program guides, and related research. In collaboration with program directors and tribal members, assist with developing and administering needs assessments; and compiling data for use in grant applications and planning activities. Work with the Grant and Contract Accountant to ensure all grant reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time. Required Current knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200(Uniform Guidance/Code of Federal Regulations) and applicable federal grant regulation. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and independently to manage multiple and tight deadlines. Strong written communication with technical writing skills, with the ability to develop clear and competitive grant proposals. Ability to organize, track, and monitor multiple grant applications, awards, and reporting timelines. Preferred Experience working with a federally recognized Tribe, either as an employee or contractor. Knowledge of P.L. 96-638 public and private sector funding programs. Comprehensive knowledge of the funding sources and programs administered by agencies such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Administration for Children and Families, the Indian Health Service, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and database applications. Strong organizational, analytical, planning, and presentation skills.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education Required Bachelor’s (BA) degree in public administration, business administration, or related field; or a minimum of five years’ related experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Experience A minimum of 2 years of grant writing experience is required, including preparation and submission of grant applications. A minimum of 2 years of grant compliance experience, including monitoring grant requirements and reporting obligations (not limited to accounting functions). Current knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance/Code of Federal Regulations). Experience submitting federal grant applications within the past 12 months. Experience preparing a federal grant budget and budget justification within the past 12 months. Other Requirements Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation. Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy, to include pre-employment screening. Tribal Preference The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe follows the Tribal Hiring Preference as outlined in tribal policies, including the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). TERO sets forth certain hiring preferences for qualified individuals who are enrolled in a federally recognized Indian tribe, as well as, in some cases, preference for certain family members of those individuals. Additional Information This is a full-time salary position and employment is at-will. Compensation will be determined based on experience and starts at $76,159.67 per year. Location Snoqualmie, WA Benefits First of the month following date of hire - competitive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits for all regular full-time employees.
