Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend, rotating holidays with core staff

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $73.50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional bedside care to neuro ICU patients with a 1:1 to 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG strips to catch changes early
• Manage ventilators and support patients through complex neuro events
• Perform neuro assessments and apply NIHSS scoring to guide care decisions
• Care for patients with CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, ventriculostomies, and neuro interventional radiology needs
• Assist with line insertions and other bedside procedures common to the unit
• Collaborate closely with hospitalists, intensivists, charge nurses, safety attendants, and 24/7 respiratory and pharmacy teams
• Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner
• Float first to sister facilities when needed to support the broader system
• Bring your expertise to a strong stroke program and a newer, state-of-the-art Neuro Center

Qualifications

• Active California RN license in good standing
• 2 years of ICU experience with Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Current NIHSS certification
• Comfortable reading and interpreting EKG strips
• Confident with ventilator management
• Cerner EMR experience is a big plus
• Able to work every other weekend and rotate in for holidays
• Ready to float first to sister facilities as part of the team
• Two supervisory references required at submittal, one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years worked
• Please note candidates cannot have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year
