Registered Nurse (RN) - Director ED - Emergency Department - $30-42 per hour

Job Title: Emergency Department Director (RN) at Baptist Health System – San Antonio, TX. Job Overview Registered Nurse (RN) Director of Emergency Department responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, and managing resources for the Access Baptist Call Center on a 24‑hour basis. The Director oversees budgeting, resource utilization, recruitment, staff management, quality outcomes, performance improvement, monitoring of quality and quantity of services, maintaining positive relationships with staff and system departments, and equipment purchasing and maintenance. Duties also include performing Call Center Staff Nurse functions as needed, completing established competencies within the introductory period, and other related duties as assigned. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and direct operations for the 24‑hour Access Baptist Call Center. Manage budget and ensure efficient/effective resource utilization. Recruit, retain, and manage nursing staff. Achieve quality outcomes through performance improvement and monitoring of quality and quantity of services. Maintain positive working relationships with staff and system departments and managers. Purchase and maintain medical equipment. Perform Call Center Staff Nurse duties as needed and complete required competencies within the introductory period. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum Experience: 5 years of acute‑care experience. Preferred Experience: 3‑5 years of progressively responsible management experience; experience as a House Officer, Case Management, or Patient Placement. Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas State license for Registered Nurse. Preferred Certifications/Licensure: None specified. Required Courses/Completions: None specified.
