AMT | Accredited Medical Assistant - Pediatrics

Job Summary: Join a compassionate healthcare team dedicated to supporting pediatric patient care in a clinical setting. This role involves assisting with healthcare delivery and patient management tailored to the needs of the practice at any given time. Essential Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or an accredited Nursing Program is required. Work Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 40-hour workweek. This opportunity is located in a welcoming healthcare environment serving the Midwest region of the United States.
- Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
- Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging as appropriate, while offering reassurance, clear education, and guidance to patients.
- Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits by maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs such as weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and gathering medical history and chief complaints.
- Observe and communicate abnormal patient signs to physicians, documenting findings thoroughly in medical records.
- Assist with testing and treatment procedures under physician supervision, including applying splints and dressings, managing sample medications, and arranging necessary patient testing or admissions.
- Support minor surgical preparations and physical exams, ensuring proper consents are obtained before invasive procedures or immunizations.
- Distribute educational materials and confirm patient understanding of treatment plans and medication usage.
- Perform laboratory tests and maintain laboratory logs as prescribed.
- Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, and ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities.
