AMT | Accredited Medical Assistant - Rheumatology

Job Summary: Join a compassionate clinical team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and health management in a dynamic rheumatology practice. Your daily tasks will adapt to the evolving needs of the clinic, ensuring personalized and attentive service. Essential Responsibilities:
Work Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm Location: Serving patients in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
- Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
- Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging calls appropriately while offering reassurance, clear education, and guidance to patients.
- Facilitate smooth healthcare delivery during patient visits by ensuring medical records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs such as weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and gathering medical history and chief complaints.
- Observe and communicate abnormal patient signs to the physician, documenting findings thoroughly in medical records.
- Ensure patients understand physician instructions upon discharge and accurately document all medical entries and billing information in electronic records.
- Assist physicians with testing, treatment procedures, splint and dressing applications, and minor surgeries under supervision.
- Manage sample medications and logs, coordinate patient testing and admissions, obtain referrals, and retrieve test results to notify patients.
- Obtain necessary consents before invasive procedures or immunizations and distribute educational materials to support patient understanding of treatments and medications.
- Perform laboratory tests and maintain laboratory logs as prescribed.
- Maintain clinical care areas by stocking supplies, organizing patient education materials, ensuring exam rooms are clean and orderly, and verifying that instruments are sterile and equipment functions properly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the practice's smooth operation.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or an accredited Nursing Program.
