Job Opportunity: Division Director of Abdominal Transplantation

Our organization, in collaboration with a prominent medical institution, is on the lookout for an outstanding surgeon to lead the Division of Abdominal Transplantation within the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate will be a nationally esteemed professional with a proven track record in clinical practice, research, and education.

This division encompasses a comprehensive multi-organ abdominal transplant program, which includes liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants, along with hepatobiliary and robotic surgical procedures. Our facility is recognized as an ASTS-approved site for fellowship training and also hosts an affiliated VA kidney transplantation program. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering the growth and advancement of the abdominal transplant program, while also supporting the expansion of the hepatobiliary program.

• Provide leadership and direction for all facets of the Abdominal Transplantation Division, including clinical services, surgical education, and research initiatives.
• Oversee the recruitment and retention of high-caliber faculty members.
• Act as a visible mentor and role model for all division faculty.
• Plan and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical quality, academic productivity, and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with service line and department leadership to formulate and execute strategic plans that ensure high-quality and efficient clinical services.

• Completion of an ASTS certified program or an equivalent certification.
• Board eligible or Board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
• Possession of a valid medical license to practice in the State of Illinois at the time of hire.

The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Professor, with a salary that reflects their experience and academic rank. The compensation package includes:

• Competitive starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945.
