Up to 90% of individual insurance premiums paid for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care health insurance & Altus dental insurance, 4 weeks of vacation and 13 holidays recognized per year, employer – paid life & disability insurance, a vested 403b retirement with 5% match, and much more!Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician I performs preventative and other as-needed maintenance tasks in the building and on the property of Saint Francis House.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesMaintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical, cleaning and other related maintenance activities.Performs routine repairs as assigned.Performs cleaning projects as assigned.Runs errands as needed.Moves furniture, boxes, equipment as assigned.Receives deliveries as needed.Participates in the after-hours on-call list and responds as necessary.Works overtime when required because of an emergency.Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.RequirementsCustomer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills; Participates in meetings.Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; Gives and welcomes feedback; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed; Recognizes accomplishments of other team members.Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.Adhere to agency code of conduct.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Employee is required to be able to use the cleaning equipment's like extractor, scrubber and vacuum machines.Employee is required to be able to use power tools and hand tools safely.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some proof of mechanical training or certifications in appropriate areas preferred.Work Environment & ActivityWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
