Staff Accountant I (entry level) (CIV)

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional to join a growing team. This role is ideal for an individual looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting while gaining hands‑on experience in month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial operations. Key Responsibilities Assist with preparing and posting journal entries and verifying transactions within the general ledger. Support month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and complete account reconciliations, including bank, balance‑sheet, and general ledger reconciliations. Assist with invoice processing, vendor payment tracking, and statement reconciliations. Review financial data for discrepancies and assist with researching and resolving variances. Maintain organized and accurate accounting records in compliance with company policies and GAAP standards. Collaborate with internal departments to obtain supporting documentation and resolve accounting issues. Support audits and special accounting projects as needed. Education Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. Experience 0–3 years of accounting experience preferred. Foundational knowledge and understanding of GAAP required. Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits, credits, and general ledger activity. Ability to accurately analyze and interpret financial transactions and account balances. Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes. Experience with month‑end close activities and financial reconciliations preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Soft Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a deadline‑driven environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
