Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Job Summary The Staff Accountant assists with overall accounting functions in the day‑to‑day financial operations of Presbyterian Night Shelter and provides integral support to the finance department, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer. The role requires sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. The Staff Accountant must be detail oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects to ensure accurate compilation and reporting of financial data in compliance with government regulations and requirements. Key responsibilities include: Adhering to deadlines and ensuring accuracy in all accounting processes. Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies. Mentaining professional office skills and independent work ethic. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. At least three years of experience in bookkeeping, finance, or accounting in a professional office setting required. Experience with database accounting software preferred. Self‑motivated, highly organized, and analytical individual. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to maintain concentration for an extended period. Commitment to client and employee confidentiality and privacy. Independent problem‑solving skills and ability to handle a variety of variables in situations. Valid Texas driver’s license required and proof of auto liability insurance. Rate of Pay $58,000.00 to $65,000.00 annually Benefits This is a full‑time salaried position with benefits.
