Staff Accountant
Pay: $90,000 - $100,000 + 10% Bonus
Location: Santa Clarita, CA — onsite daily
A rapidly growing manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join its Finance team. This role will work closely with the Controller to build and enhance accounting infrastructure and processes in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys learning, taking ownership, and growing their accounting career.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end close, including GL reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and close schedules
- Manage daily and monthly invoicing, including direct customer interaction
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate transaction processing and internal controls
- Perform inventory reconciliations, support cycle counts, and assist with physical inventory audits
- Analyze standard vs. actual costs and investigate variances
- Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal control documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Support annual financial audits and tax filings
- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and accounting processes
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and other accounting initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2–4+ years of accounting experience; CPG or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or a similar ERP preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail, judgment, initiative, and ownership
