POSITION SUMMARY
This is a bilingual role (English & Spanish) that builds and fosters trusting and mutually beneficial relationships between the museum and community organizations serving ECE educators and families with young children, particularly home care providers in low-income communities. This role will assist with designing and testing programs for home care providers, delivery of programs and initiatives with community organizations that tackle persistent barriers to participation in the museum for historically marginalized communities, and delivery of professional development for educators. The ECE role specifically requires knowledge of education of children in our youngest age focus of 0-4 years. This position requires a passion for, and experience in, children’s education, a highly motivated and outgoing attitude, and exceptional interpersonal communication, and customer service. This position requires a Tuesday-Saturday schedule, with the ability to flex time to accommodate programming for occasional evening hours. This is a temporary position ending on June 30, 2028. This position will be in-person at our gorgeous 7.5-acre campus in Sausalito, CA, as well as offsite at community organizations in the Bay Area to support programming and relationship-building. There is a possibility of one remote day a week based on programming needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
In partnership with Research & Evaluation team, the Community Engagement Manager, and the Chief Playful Learning Officer, build relevant relationships and partnerships with home-based childcare providers and agencies serving families with young children in our focus communities, and conduct landscape analysis to understand the needs of the trusted care providers. Based on learnings about home-based childcare community needs, participate in co-creation, design, implementation, and evaluation of resources created for home-based childcare providers. This may include program and activity ideation, prototyping, planning, and evaluation, as well as gathering and recording data and materials from online websites or databases. Collaborate on the development and delivery of professional development workshops for educators based on the museum’s educational framework, CREATE, and the museum’s other translational research assets (e.g., Reimagining School Readiness and Think, Make, Try); including creating or revising PowerPoint presentations, and preparing relevant hands‑on activities. Supports in-person and virtual delivery of community engagement programming with caregivers and children, and professional development workshops including set‑up, greeting, and program delivery. Collaboration on writing, editing, and formatting reports, presentations, and other educational or reporting materials.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience working with children aged 0-8 years in formal or informal educational settings; with the younger age range of 0-4 years. Experience in education, early childhood education, or similar field preferred. Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development, pedagogy, and developmentally appropriate practice. ECE credentials are preferred. Proficiency in oral and written English and Spanish. Demonstrated experience, knowledge and commitment to personal growth and culture change work related to diversity, equity, access, and inclusion (DEAI). Well-honed interpersonal and communication skills, especially empathy and listening skills. Proven ability to build strong and trusting relationships with co-workers at all levels, as well as external stakeholders and community members. Strong ability to research, compile, analyze, and present information (both written and numerical) clearly. A self-starter who can identify opportunities, corral support for ideas, and build alliances with internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional time management skills with an ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Proven record of accomplishment of working in a busy environment and an ability to get the job done with the available resources. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams. Must have a current driver’s license, a clear Motor Vehicle Record, personal car insurance, and reliable access to a car as local travel is required.BENEFITS

Ability to perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, walking, and picking up items for 2-3 hours at a time. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and carry up to 50 lbs. for short distances/periods. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying types of weather. This role is primarily based in an indoor office environment with standard office equipment and technology. The position requires facilitating activities onsite, offsite, and online, using computers and communication tools, and the ability to participate in meetings and presentations. May work in remote locations, both indoors and outdoors, including travel in a vehicle to and from remote sites. May be exposed to varying types of weather when traveling to and from remote sites.
