About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations, In Training (VPO-IT) to play a pivotal role in the development of an engaging employee experience within the distribution center and to ensure a consistent, reliable service experience for customers. The VPO-IT will work closely with the Vice President of Operations, taking on increasing responsibilities to lead all key functions within the operational structure. This includes fostering a culture of continuous improvement, agile implementation, and driving enterprise best practices. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver operational excellence across safety, quality, cost to serve, and customer experience, and must be capable of influencing and challenging at all levels to achieve key enterprise initiatives. Candidates for the VPO-IT position should have a minimum of 9 years' of operations experience in warehouse and/or transportation, with at least 5 years' in a management role. Essential qualifications include a proven track record in team development, experience in a matrixed and union environment, and a strong business acumen with the ability to lead change and drive financial results. The role requires a leader with excellent communication, influence, and collaboration skills, who is adept at coaching and mentoring. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, and the candidate should be well-versed in supply chain network optimization, labor management, and food safety policies. The VPO-IT will be expected to embody the core values of the company and, after a period of development, to assume the role of a VPO in a new market.
