Property Accountant

Position Overview A privately held commercial real estate investment and property management organization is seeking an experienced Property Accountant / Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position will be responsible for a broad range of property accounting functions supporting a commercial real estate portfolio. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager, CAM reconciliations, commercial leases, property-level accounting, and month-end close. This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial real estate environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain property tax records, process payments, and review assessed property values Manage cash activity and prepare wire transfers Review commercial leases and ensure accurate accounting treatment Maintain and review CAM information within Yardi Voyager and Excel Prepare CAM reconciliations and communicate with tenants regarding reconciliation matters Handle retail and percentage-rent calculations as applicable Calculate and process property management fees Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations Maintain balance sheet accounts, including AR, AP, prepaid expenses, and security deposits Assist with budgeting for property taxes, insurance, licenses, and other property-related expenses Support accounting for property acquisitions and onboarding of new properties Maintain entity compliance and related accounting records Assist with implementation and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and software Provide backup support for accounts payable and accounts receivable Complete additional accounting projects and analysis as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience 5+ years of commercial property management accounting experience Hands-on Yardi Voyager experience required Strong experience preparing CAM reconciliations Experience reviewing and interpreting commercial leases Strong understanding of property-level accounting and month-end close Experience with retail and/or commercial properties preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage a high volume of work and competing priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Professional written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively with property management, tenants, vendors, and internal accounting teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
