We are looking for dependable, detail-focused professionals to support a short-term transit data collection project in Savage, Maryland. This Contract position involves riding assigned public transportation routes, monitoring scheduled checkpoints, and capturing accurate timing information over a 3-day assignment. You will work closely with a partner, follow established project instructions, and help produce reliable data for planning activities. Training will be provided before the project begins, making this a strong fit for candidates who are organized, punctual, and comfortable working in a transit environment.

Responsibilities:
• Travel on assigned bus routes with a designated partner according to the project schedule.
• Observe route progress and record the exact times buses reach identified checkpoints.
• Enter and maintain timing details accurately to support transportation planning efforts.
• Apply project instructions consistently to ensure complete and dependable data collection.
• Coordinate with your assigned teammate to verify observations and reduce recording errors.
• Stay attentive during each shift while managing notes in an organized and timely manner.
• Follow the established assignment schedule across all 3 days of the project.• Availability to commit to the full 3-day assignment and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Comfort with riding public transportation for extended periods during the workday.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to capture time-based information accurately.
• Ability to follow directions carefully and complete tasks according to project guidelines.
• Willingness to work cooperatively with a partner throughout the assignment.
• Capacity to remain focused and organized in an active public transit setting.
• Basic data entry and typing skills for recording information clearly and efficiently.
