Senior Social Strategist Senior Social Strategists develop the social strategy for a high‑profile CPG account, creating strategic approaches that maximize impact for the overarching brand story. They possess a strong understanding of social platforms and take an active role in all aspects of a social project—including issue identification, competitive benchmarking, recommendation formation, program architecture, performance drivers, and KPI framework. Strategists advocate for the right actions on social platforms to implement a strategy and foster consensus within the internal client team and the client’s organization to achieve measurable results. What You’ll Do Translate business objectives into social media objectives, enriched by proprietary benchmarks (best content/format, CPM/CTR/CPA in category, etc.) Analyze available insights and define overall strategy in terms of Distribution and Amplification, including competitive analysis and global platform selection. Define content amplification principles, including segmentation and contextualization. Map all distribution segments per platform and associate budget needed based on KPI/objectives. Recommend formats and placements to leverage campaign objectives while respecting budget constraints. Determine the appropriate advertising pressure to achieve goals within budget limitations. Define a general tagging strategy, including conversion tracking, page‑level conversion rates, and re‑engagement targeting based on the funnel stage. Craft a custom targeting approach using available client data to develop unique targeting leveraging client knowledge/databases. Integrate A/B testing and a messaging matrix across multiple targeting options to identify optimal formats and creative options. Prepare and present necessary reporting for client and agency senior stakeholders, focusing on drivers of performance and the KPI framework. Evaluate execution resources needed and draft the budget. What You’ll Need 3–5 years of experience in social marketing, with proven examples of strategies developed within the social media space. Strong understanding of client business and ability to connect business challenges with social strategy and tactics. Expertise in social media and the broader digital communications landscape. Passion for the rapidly evolving digital/social media environment and a strong viewpoint to share with clients and colleagues. Research skills with the ability to generate data‑based insights and weave them into the strategy process. Eye for innovation and emerging platforms or partners to consider as part of social strategy outcomes. Superior communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. Personal social media presence with links to relevant spaces (if applicable). Previous experience in a social‑oriented agency is preferred.
