Principal Architect - eComm Payments

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification in architecture concepts, along with 10+ years of applied experience.
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability at enterprise scale.
• We require expertise in one or more programming languages, supported by a strong foundation in software engineering principles.
• We value deep knowledge of software, applications, and architecture, including advanced software architecture, application development, and technical practices in areas such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• We look for demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within architecture and engineering workflows, with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
• We need the ability to evaluate and embed AI-enabled capabilities into scalable platforms while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability standards.
• We require experience applying expertise and new approaches to resolve complex architecture challenges across one or more technical disciplines.
• We want experience leading a product in a product owner or product manager capacity.
• We need the ability to present and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to senior leaders and executives.
• Preferred: strategic thinking for shaping digital transformation in payments, including digital onboarding, client self-service, partner integrations, and developer experience platforms.

• We advise cross-functional teams on technology choices to achieve target-state architecture and guide decisions on improvements to current and emerging technologies.
• We develop multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business strategy, architecture priorities, and digital transformation goals, with emphasis on payments, client onboarding, and self-service experiences.
• We apply enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within architecture and engineering workflows to speed up analysis, roadmap development, and design decisions, using human review and careful handling of sensitive data.
• We establish reuse-first, AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across the software development lifecycle and toolchain practices, ensuring traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
• We create complex, scalable coding frameworks using sound software design principles, focusing on durability and reuse to improve speed and quality across teams and functions.
• We develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others to maintain engineering excellence.
• We serve as the teams primary subject matter expert and help shape technical methods in specialized fields, aligned with the latest product development practices.
• We influence the digital transformation strategy for payments, including digital onboarding, client self-service experiences, partner integrations, and developer experience platforms.
• We define and govern API standards, functional design, and integration patterns to enable scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions across internal and external ecosystems.
