Qualifications & Experience:

• Current COMS certification through ACVREP
• Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching certification
• Proven experience working with visually impaired (VI) students across grades 2 through high school
• Flexibility to adapt strategies for various ages and ability levels
• Strong communication and collaborative skills for working within school teams and diverse educational environments

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Providing individualized orientation and mobility training to students with visual impairments, supporting their academic and life goals as outlined in their IEPs
• Assessing student abilities, recommending adaptive devices and strategies, and implementing appropriate mobility instruction
• Creating a flexible schedule aligned with both O&M best practices and student IEP requirements, ensuring all student needs are met across various sites
• Documenting student progress, participating in IEP meetings, and providing input for annual reviews
• Serving as a resource for school staff and families regarding best practices in orientation and mobility for VI students
