Step into a rewarding contract position guiding students with visual impairments toward independence as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist. This opportunity covers multiple educational sites, supporting students from 2nd grade through high school. You'll have the flexibility to develop your own schedule, ensuring each student receives the attention specified in their IEP—all in a dynamic, onsite-only setting for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Desired Qualifications:

• COMS certification through AVCREP is required
• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate
• Experience working with visually impaired (VI) students spanning elementary to high school levels
• Competency collaborating across multiple school environments
• Ability to tailor instructional approaches to diverse student needs and environments
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct orientation and mobility instruction to VI students at various campuses
• Assess individual student needs and create targeted O&M plans aligned with IEP objectives
• Travel to and from different school sites as necessary
• Collaborate with teachers, educational teams, and families to support student achievement
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, attendance, and outcomes
• Provide ongoing consultation and support to staff regarding safe travel skills and accessibility
