Location: Hattie Mae White Department: Evaluation Monitoring Area: District Wide Contract Months: 12 Salary Range: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 Academic Year: 26-27 JOB SUMMARY The Coordinator of Program Compliance is responsible for leading the daily function of ensuring academic programs are in compliance, including with reporting requirements. This will include a range of outputs including frequent and ongoing monitoring reports to end of cycle reporting for close out submission. The role ensures that programs are meeting compliance throughout the year. Programs include but are not limited to State Compensatory Education, Multilingual, MTSS, Early Childhood and GT, College and Career. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead data reporting initiatives as identified by the Manager of Program Compliance, including accessing, transforming, and producing reports for ensuring program compliance. Conduct rigorous analysis of quantitative data (e.g., student achievement) to answer research questions using descriptive statistics; responsibilities include selecting data management; using statistical software for analysis (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata); use of data visualization tools for presentation (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Ensure data sets are complete, accurate, and reporting is timely and actionable for the department staff of the program. Work closely with Federal and State Compliance department staff to verify program data is in compliance with program intent and reporting requirements. Work in collaboration with department Managers and Directors to ensure vision for the work is executed. Provide support to other reporting teams in the district. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION Master’s Degree preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE 3+ years of related program compliance and data analysis work. Cross functional experience in K-12 data and reporting, quantitative research methods and methodologies in educational research, proficiency in a variety of statistical software packages (i.e., SPSS, R, Stata), and proficiency in coding languages (i.e., SQL, HTML). SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION SAP, Microsoft Office HISD Connect, HTML, Office Equipment Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, SPSS, Stata, Excel, R, Python and/or MATLAB PowerBI, and Tableau both preferred LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Does not supervise staff. WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing direction on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities. BUDGET AUTHORITY None. PROBLEM SOLVING Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas. IMPACT OF DECISIONS Decisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Errors may be serious, usually not subject to direct verification or check, causing losses such as improper cost calculations, overpayment or improper utilization of labor, materials or equipment. Effect usually confined to the organization itself and is short term. COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS Collaborate and solve problems – works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer within HISD's policies and guidelines. WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
