Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Acute Telemetry position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications and experience with cardiac patients including MI, CHF, and arrhythmias.

Details

• Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow
• Unit manages cardiac drips (not nitrates)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required when needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a Compact state currently in hand
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA required
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Ceil blue scrubs required
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies resources to address care needs
• New hires attend orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated trained staff member
• Candidates who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS Health facility in a non-travel capacity must have been separated for at least 6 months before being considered
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
