Staff Accountant Inventory Control

: Description Compiles, analyzes, and interprets financial data to track and manage store and distribution center inventory. Maintains accurate accounting of physical inventory as compared to perpetual inventory records. 1. Addresses and corrects store retail inventory reconciliation issues and completes associated tasks related to the reconciliation of store physical inventory. Assists Store Operations, Loss Prevention, and Store Management in resolving all concerns related to the accuracy of on hand inventory. 2. Retrieves financial data from various sources, performs analysis, and produces ad hoc summaries of inventory activity. 3. Identifies, communicates and assists in the resolution of inventory control concerns and procedure issues with Loss Prevention, Store Operations, Distribution Center Operations, and General Office departments as necessary. 4. Prepares documentation to support financial trends in the company and assists other departments with inventory analysis. 5. Instructs field associates on basic accounting concepts, inventory processes and standard Company procedures to ensure compliance and minimize errors. 6. Completes month end assignments, including journal entries, reconciliations and analysis. Qualification 1. College Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required. 2. One year of previous Inventory Control Accounting experience preferred. 3. Basic understanding of inventory, store procedures, and purchase order systems required. 4. Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and accuracy skills required. 5. Excellent PC skills including MS Office Suite, and AS400, along with the ability to gain comprehensive understanding of multiple software platforms and leverage understanding to facilitate analysis required. 6.
