Overview At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients. This is a fully onsite role reporting to one of our 18 offices located in Chicagoland. You will spend a significant portion of your time meeting clients and prospects in the field, while administrative and team collaboration tasks occur at the office. The primary focus is building relationships and driving revenue through in-person interactions. Responsibilities Drive net-new revenue as a Strategic Growth Manager (SGM) by bringing top producing agents to Compass and effectively selling the Compass value proposition (technology, marketing, culture and growth). Influence agents to leave their current brokerage and join Compass, noting that agents are independent contractors who can move their business where they receive the best value and support. Work directly with decision-makers, avoiding many of the hassles of selling to large corporations. Meet quota through bringing on individual agents or large agent teams, with quotas based on prior 12 months’ performance of the agent or team; not contingent on future production at Compass. Explain to agents why their business and clients will benefit by moving to Compass. Nuances This is a more humanized sale, requiring empathy, listening, patience, agility and quick decision-making when dealing with senior agents who may have long-standing affiliations with their brokerage. Members come from diverse backgrounds (e.g., investment banking, management consulting, law, enterprise sales) and collectively contribute to a high-performing team. Compass has momentum in the market, with SGM performance measured as revenue contribution per head. Qualifications B.A. or B.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience Strong interpersonal skills and a glass-half-full mentality Self-starter with the ability to exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively lead client meetings and presentations Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines Track record of excellence across strategic, operational, and detail-demanding responsibilities Compensation and Benefits The base pay range is $100,000–$110,000 annually, with a potential bonus target of $30,000–$60,000 and the potential for upside based on performance. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is location-based and the minimum wage for the position will always be met.
