Job Roles and Responsibilities

Evaluate commercial insurance risks for new and renewal business.

Rate, quote, and bind commercial insurance policies.

Review applications and underwriting documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Communicate with insurance agents and carrier representatives via phone and email.

Assist with policy renewals and prepare renewal quotations.

Analyze property, casualty, auto, garage, general liability, inland marine, and professional liability risks.

Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and carrier requirements.

Maintain accurate policy records and underwriting documentation.

Respond promptly to agent inquiries and provide underwriting support.

Work closely with carrier partners to secure appropriate coverage options.

Meet turnaround time expectations while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Support the underwriting team with administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Certifications

High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

1-3 years of commercial insurance, underwriting, or insurance agency experience preferred.

Knowledge of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance products.

Familiarity with General Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, Garage, Inland Marine, and Professional Liability coverages.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance management systems.

Insurance designations such as CISR, AU, CIC, or CPCU are a plus but not required.
