How you'll contribute An MRI Technician who excels in this role operates magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Additional responsibilities include: Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Professional Development: Ongoing learning and career advancement opportunities What we're looking for Education Graduated from an ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine required. Associate's degree preferred. Experience 1 year in Radiologic technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, Nuclear Medicine, or CT procedures preferred. Certifications Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required; ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine Registry required. ARRT Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required (within 1 year hire/transfer) Skills and Abilities Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be willing to work in-person and/or remotely, as needed/directed. *If not ARRT(MR), then you must work under the supervision of an ARRT(MR) technologist until your ARRT(MR) is obtained.
